Technology Readiness Index Model and Online Transaction: Artificial Intelligence Perspective

Abstract

This research addresses the question of optimism, innovativeness, discomfort, insecurity, Anthropomorphism, and intelligence as independent variables of customer influencing on accepting Artificial Intelligence in online/mobile banking. Structured questionnaires were distributed to prospective customers through the customer service departments by applying the TARO YAMANI formula, 390 was arrived at as the sample size. STATA 13.0 statistical software was used in data analysis. The hypothesis was tested with a data set of 390 potential customers of Nigerian deposit money banks. The results favored the positive technological readiness index dimension of optimism and innovation why insecurity and discomfort which abate customer influence prove positive. This interesting insight places customers in passive role and increases the human-technology interface. Anthropomorphism and intelligence also indicated a positive relationship. This study becomes a switchboard on customers’ acceptance of Artificial Intelligence in online/mobile banking findings signified sustainability in technology adoption literature and provide specific avenues for further inquiry.
